Lake Guide...

Etang Hirondelle offers a fishing holiday for all the family to enjoy, with all bookings including exclusive use of the lakeside villa with pool and the 4-acre lake. The venue is situated in the department of Mayenne, France just outside the village of Bonchamp-les-Craon. The town of Craon is just a five minute drive away and has a Supermarket for all your needs. Getting here couldn't be easier, with Etang Hirondelle just under 2 hours from the port of St Malo and around 3 hours from the port at Caen.

The perfect diversity of carp and coarse fish

The lake is famed for it's pristine carp and its fantastic coarse fishing, making it one of the finest mixed fisheries in France. Although it could not be classed as a "big carp-fishery" the lake has been purposely designed to be an all round, well balanced fishing venue suitable for all carp and coarse anglers and their families.

The lake has depths up to 3 metres in places and comfortable grass banks to fish from. The quality of fishing available is at a very high standard, including a fantastic head of mirror, common and fully scaled carp to 45lb as well as a plethora of coarse fish such as pike, perch and roach. This is complimented by a well managed stock of sturgeon.

A selection of just some of the fish at Etang Hirondelle are available to view in our photo gallery and video clip pages.

About the estate

The lake and villa are set in stunning surroundings within its own grounds. The woodland walks are a must and catching a glimpse of the wild deer drinking from the lake early in the morning is simply amazing.

The grounds around the lake are well maintained and laid to lawn, there are different specimens of trees which surround the lake giving the lake a charcter of its own. Outside the villa there is a terraced area overlooking the lake with table, chairs and barbeque. There is also a pool with sun loungers.
