This is the third time we (myself and my family with 3 teenage girls) have been to Etang Hirondelle – and the place captured my heart this time just as it did the very first time I saw it way back in 2016. It’s the most tranquil and wonderful setting to fish carp, and my three teenage girls have always found the setting both relaxing and enjoyable. I fished mornings and evenings landing approximately 15 carp to 23lb and a sturgeon of 29lbs. This meant that the biggies avoid me this time like last, but fishing in this wonderful setting means that it’s the experience and not necessarily the catch that provides the fantastic joy. The girls also fished loads of roach up to 1lb or bigger. The hosts Glen and Linda are perfect – present and available but you still there “alone” to enjoy the absolutely stunning lake and accommodation privately. As stated, this is our third time, we have been to many other places in France and this is one of the places we come back to again and again. We will be back for a 4^th trip – so long as the world´s not gone completely mad by that time.
