WE ARE NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR 2027

29th July - 5th August

We have just got back from a fantastic week at Etang Hirondelle. Our hosts looked after us very well. Bait was on site and ready to go upon arrival and after settling into the lovely accommodation, Glen was then on hand to point out likely areas to fish. We ended up fishing at range, between 22 and 25 wraps for most of the week, so if you are an inaccurate caster at distance like me, then I would recommend a bait boat if fishing the main peg near the accommodation.

Taking into account the changeable weather conditions, we caught a good number of carp to 40lb averaging around 30lb. On Sunday evening we caught more than we bargained for, when we hooked into something very powerful indeed. 20 minutes later we got a glimpse of a very large tail. 10 minutes later with my arms now burning, my better half
netted the 7ft long cat. Glen had already told us that there was a single cat in the lake, which was last caught a couple years ago at around 120lb. Its fair to say that its grown on nicely since then, and at 150lb it was a site to behold and an experience that will never likely be matched again, especially when your family are with you to share in the experience too.

Other highlights of the week include finally catching my first sturgeon (35lb), which I had some how avoided on previous trips to France. I also ended up equalling my carp pb of 39lb 10oz (what are the chances of that?).

Thank you Glen and Linda we all had a fantastic week. See you next year.
